Welcome to believe@Magee!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the official blog of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital! This marks our inaugural post, a sort of digital ribbon-cutting on this online portal for us to discuss topics related to health, disability, rehabilitation and prevention. Here’s a sneak peak of all the great content you’re about to see.

  • At Magee. We’ll be sharing all the latest events, programs, news and happenings out of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. Stay tuned for special announcements and first looks at some of the great things happening at Magee.
  • Patient Stories. Even after patients are discharged, they never truly leave Magee. We keep in touch with everyone who passes through our doors, and will share their stories of rehab and recovery.
  • In the News. Things happen. And when they do, we’re here to share and provide our two cents. Look out for discussion on the latest news items surrounding spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputation and disability.
  • Research. Want to know more about the latest research and findings in SCI, brain injury, stroke and amputation? You can find recaps of these studies – as well as an explanation of what it means for you and your loved ones – right here on the Magee blog.
  • For Your Health. We’ll always offer health tips for people living with disabilities, as well as advice for injury and illness prevention. Topics will include nutrition, fitness, wellness and other items to keep you in tip top shape.
  • Life & Style. These posts will focus on disability lifestyle commentary and advice, such as day to day living tips, accessible travel, movie reviews, parenting advice, etc.
  • Ask a Peer. We hate to play favorites – but we really love this section. Magee has a renowned peer mentoring program that pairs people with disabilities with newly injured to give them advice and recommendations from someone who has been there before. Blog visitors will be given an opportunity to ask their own questions, which the peers will answer in bi-weekly posts.

But what makes a blog great isn’t just the content (though that certainly helps). It’s the conversation we can build around it. So don’t be shy! Tell us what you think, what you like, what you don’t like, and what you’d like to see more of. We can’t wait to hear from you!
