Humanitarian Award Dinner
The 35th Humanitarian Award Dinner Thursday, November 10, 2022
We are pleased to announce that John S. Middleton and the Philadelphia Phillies will be the recipient of the 2022 Magee Rehabilitation Humanitarian Award which will be presented Thursday, November 10 at The Logan Hotel.
John currently serves as the Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of the Philadelphia Phillies. John and his wife Leigh and the Phillies are widely acclaimed as community leaders in the Delaware Valley. They have a long record of charitable support of many non-profit organizations and have been especially loyal supporters of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. For decades, the club has been a leading sponsor of Magee events and has held “Phillies Game Days” for patients at Magee. In addition, numerous players and managers have visited patients at the Hospital. In 2017, to commemorate the club’s generosity, a healing garden at the Hospital was named in honor of Charlie Manuel.
On a personal level, John and Leigh have made significant impacts to a variety of philanthropic organizations with contributions to Project HOME, Penn Medicine, Teach for America, Amherst College, Dartmouth College, The Haverford School, the School District of Philadelphia and Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church where they are longtime members. In 2020, the Middleton Family sponsored the PHLove Variety Show, raising more than $1.5 million for the Philadelphia COVID-19 Relief Fund.
John Middleton and his team recognize that doing meaningful work is more important than ever. They are committed to the community serving as supporters, board members, volunteers and making numerous positive contributions to the Delaware Valley.
The Humanitarian Award Dinner recognizes those who contribute positively to the Philadelphia community and are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities in our region. There is no one more fitting than John Middleton to be our 2022 recipient.
The Magee Rehabilitation Humanitarian Award Dinner honoring John Middleton and the Philadelphia Phillies will raise funds for patient programs and services at Magee.
