Wellness Triumph of the Month: Gloria’s Story

Each month, the Health & Wellness Center at Magee Riverfront honors one of its clients as the “Wellness Triumph of the Month.” Today, meet Gloria.

On January 13, 2015, Gloria went into emergency surgery to repair a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. During the surgery, she suffered a stroke that severely compromised her left side. After inpatient therapy elsewhere, Gloria chose Magee for her outpatient therapy and joined the Health & Wellness Center in July 2017. Gloria made a living doing clerical work for the government, attends church consistently, and loves food and family. You’ll often hear her talk about her favorite snack, cheddar and jelly sandwiches! In Wellness, she uses the Standing Frame, Stim Bike, UBE, and even participated in the Gaining Ground program She has come a long way since her stroke, and she attributes a lot of her success to the Wellness Center staff, and her sister, Joyce.
