Mendel Kupfer, MD
Dr. Mendel Kupfer, MD, joined the physician staff of Magee Rehabilitation in 2006. Dr. Kupfer is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine and Brain Injury Medicine and is an Associate Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He is the Medical Director of the SCI Medical Home at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and a sub-investigator of the Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center of the Delaware Valley. Dr. Kupfer’s clinical focus is in spinal cord injury, complex neurological rehabilitation, prevention and treatment of medical complications of chronic debility and minimally invasive tone management.
He completed residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he served as Academic Chief Resident. Dr. Kupfer attended medical school at Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Kupfer has published in peer reviewed journals, has authored multiple book chapters and actively participates in resident physician education. Dr. Kupfer is a member of multiple professional organizations and has lectured at national meetings and webinars.
