Amputee Support

Amputee Support Group: This group consists of social meetings and events in addition to guest speakers on a variety of topics. This group is held at Magee at 12:15 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month. For more information, please contact us by phone at 215-587-3106 or email at MRH_amputee@Jefferson.edu.

Amputee Peer Mentor Program: Established in 1980, the AMP-Peer Program are a group of volunteers at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. Amp-Peer is a free service that gives individuals with amputations the opportunity to talk with one another. The Peers share their experiences, knowledge, provide emotional support and practical information on everyday concerns. They are living proof that individuals with amputations can recover and continue to have active lives.

For more information about having an amputee peer meet with you or to become an amputee peer, contact the peer coordinator office at 215-587-3411 or Rebecca.Levenberg@jefferson.edu.

Support groups and services have been meeting virtually, via Zoom, during the pandemic. Details on resuming in-person gatherings will be forthcoming. For more information, contact the individuals listed or check back at this page.
