The brain injury continuum at Magee provides service in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Inpatient lengths of stay average 26 days. This efficiency is achieved by a cohesive team of clinicians led by a dedicated brain injury physiatrist. Treatments combine the latest in technology and pharmacology with proven, hands-on evaluations and therapies. Magee maintains active relationships with other providers, such as vocational agencies and residential programs, to ensure effective and efficient referral to appropriate support programs.
Enrollment considerations for Magee's brain injury programs are liberal. The brain injury team welcomes case managers, rehabilitation specialists, discharge planners and family members for on-site tours and informational interviews. Magee treats patients who are at least 14 years old, and has a specialized adolescent/ young adult coordinator who work with young people who are already involved in academic or vocational pursuits, or who need support to pursue those goals.
